Why do the characters always seem to resort to violence, trickery, and evilness?
Yes I have realized that in all the Shakespeare plays I have studied the characters always resort to violence, trickery or evilness. In plays such as Much Ado About Nothing, Merchant of Venice and Romeo and Juliet we see that these theme are reoccurring. In Much Ado About Nothing we see that Leonato and company tricked Benedick by gossip and ears dropping to belief that Beatrice was in love with him. Beatrice was also tricked in believing that Benedick was madly in love with her too. Don John resort to evilness in which to get back at his brother Don Perdo but however tricked Leonato in the process. He trick Leonato by taking him too Hero bedroom window where her maid and Don John friend pretend to be Hero another man. Leonato then believe that Hero was unfaithful to him and shamed her on the day of their wedding. We also see that in Romeo and Juliet the characters resort to violence by killing themselves after their love which they had for each other could not be expected freely.

Difficult Marriages
Question 1: What are the disadvantages Elizabeth talking about?
Answer: The disadvantages that Elizabeth is speaking about are: is the marriage of her parents, the woman are force to marriage at a young age even if there are not in love must, of the time it for the money and because the man will be able to take care of his family. Her mothers also try to force her to marry her cousin.
Question 2: How are children affected by difficult marriages?
Answer: Children are affected by difficult marriages in many different ways. Children are looking for love between their parents and when this is not present, children feel that there are the reasons for their parent’s unhappiness. The marriage maybe verbally and physically abuse which may affect the development of a child. Children can be scared from these abuses which may cause them to grow up and believe that this behavior is acceptable. The child may act out at school and other social setting in this manner because this is the type of training that is displayed at home. Children may also develop mental, physical and emotional issue from their childhood experience which can cause lack of communication and future problems like a dangerous life style. A child may turn to drugs, sex and even suicide to escape these issues in their life. The child may develop the same life style when he or she grows up because their believe that the only way of life.
Question 3: Is it acceptable today to stay in a marriage just for the sake of the children?
Answer: In my opinion I don’t believe that it is acceptable for one to stay in a difficult marriage just for the sake of the children. However there is more than one point of view to this issue. The reason for saying I don’t believe that anyone should stay in a difficult marriage just for the sake of their children is because, of the type of difficult that may be occurring in the marriage. I don’t think a woman should stay in a marriage when her husband is cheating and not supporting his children. I also think that if a marriage is abusive whether verbal or physical they should not stay in those surroundings. On the other hand one may remain in a difficult marriage because he/she doesn’t have anywhere else to turn. The person may also stay in it the because of religion. One may have also experience the same difficult marriage as a child and think that’s how it should be.

Berayal "Much Ado About Nothing"
“Betrayal is a theme introduce at the beginning of this play. How does this constant stream of betrayal effect the out come of the plot and which characters are mostly affected by it”?
In this book “Much Ado About Nothing” betrayal is one of the major and most important theme of this play because if it was not for the constant stream of betrayal I don’t think that this book would be so effective to the readers. We could also see that the out come of the plot was greatly affected because we see marriage turn to death.
According to the Longman dictionary of contemporary English betrayal means to be disloyal to a friend, country or someone who trust you that they are harmed or upset. We first see betrayal in this book by Don John we wishes to get back at his brother. We also see betrayal between Don John and Borachio, Claudio and Hero and Leonato. Although betrayal was carried out in numbers of ways in the book I believe that Hero was the one it affected most. Don John was the bastard brother of Don Pedro who was the prince of Arragon. Don John and friends who where Conrade and Borachio wanted to betrayal Don Pedro’s trust by deceiving Claudio, this occurs in Act 1 scene 3. The plan that Don John made was to inform Claudio that Don Pedro was planning to woo Hero for himself and to her instead of him. Don John also went on with the plan to make Borachio and one of Hero servant to have sexual intercourse in Hero’s room so that Claudio and Don Pedro would see and believe it was Hero.
The betrayal between hero and Claudio was affected greatly because it was a day that every girl dream about Hero’s wedding day. The church was filled with people and when Friar Francis asked Claudio whether he wishes to marry Hero, Claudio reply was NO then he continued by saying that he is going to send her back to Leonato because outwardly she is pure and innocence but is unfaithful whore inwardly. The wedding which was supposed to be a happy and joyful ended in uproar. Leonato and Hero where both stock and surprise and asked what you mean by this, Claudio tells them that himself, Don Pedro and Don John had seen her the night before having sexual intercourse with a man. Claudio also stated that the man has confessed of having sexual intercourse with her more than once. This accusation was supported by Don John and Don Pedro where there then accuse her of sexual looseness. Leonato was ashamed, embarrassed and cried and for a dagger to commit suicide. Hero sinks to the ground unconscious. Don John, Don Pedro and Claudio walked out with out looking back. The Friar yells Leonato to plan that Hero had died after she was shamed at the wedding and Leonato went alone with it. We see in Act 4 scene 2 Dogberry interrogate Borachio and Conrade. Borachio confesses that he received money from Don John to pretend me made love to Hero.
In closing we can say that betrayal really played a major part in the out come of the plot in “Much Ado About Nothing”. We see that disloyalty was played out in a number of ways and because of this the comedy ended up into a tragic-comedy. Claudio losses a good woman or wonderful wife, Leonato was ashamed because of his position in society. And we see that Don John and friends where put away because of their action. Don John’s plans of getting back at his brother as also backfired on him.

Homework
Humor is vital in any comedy. Though Dogberry and his
constables play a minor role in Much Ado About Nothing there presents is vital.
To what extent do you agree with this statement?

In this essay I will be agreeing with the statement made

I agree with this statement because while reading the book the character Dogberry made you laughs
because of the remarks he made. From the remarks that where made we see he is
not from the upper class and is not all that intelligent. Has a reader I was
able to conclude that he could be a part of the middle class based on his job
title. We see that his name alone causes the readers to think of what will
happen next or even laugh at it. The reason for saying this when I think of a
dog I see a pet or a dirty four legged animal where as a berry is seen as a
sweet or fruit. When the two is put together in my mind it is seen as a paradox.

Dogberry made humor statement even in serious moment such as
when the treachery against Hero is revealed. We also see that Dogberry while
interrogate a prisoner, he says, “Is our whole dissembly appeared?” instead of
saying assembly. Dogberry made people referred to him as a “ass” because of the
implications with his language. This was said because when he speaks on several
occasions it makes no sense.
