Humor is vital in any comedy. Though Dogberry and his
constables play a minor role in Much Ado About Nothing there presents is vital.
To what extent do you agree with this statement?

 

 

In this essay I will be agreeing with the statement made
that Humor is vital in any comedy and how Dogberry play a vital role in there presents.

 

 I agree with this statement because while reading the book the character Dogberry made you laughs
because of the remarks he made. From the remarks that where made we see he is
not from the upper class and is not all that intelligent. Has a reader I was
able to conclude that he could be a part of the middle class based on his job
title. We see that his name alone causes the readers to think of what will
happen next or even laugh at it. The reason for saying this when I think of a
dog I see a pet or a dirty four legged animal where as a berry is seen as a
sweet or fruit. When the two is put together in my mind it is seen as a paradox.

 

Dogberry made humor statement even in serious moment such as
when the treachery against Hero is revealed. We also see that Dogberry while
interrogate a prisoner, he says, “Is our whole dissembly appeared?” instead of
saying assembly. Dogberry made people referred to him as a “ass” because of the
implications with his language. This was said because when he speaks on several
occasions it makes no sense.

 

These are some of the reason why I have agree with the
statement Humor is vital in any comedy. Dogberry plays and did a great job
while playing the part.
